At MSIF, we needed to communicate findings and insights from our research work in a consistent manner, which led to the formation of the Practice-focused Research, Policy, and Dissemination Center.
This center works with leading research institutions to conduct practice-focused research that informs the development of the sector in India. The center focuses on three key areas: (i) the needs and financial behavior of clients, (ii) the cost structures of alternative delivery systems, and (iii) the delivery of financial services for the low-income sector through digital finance systems. The center conducts several research activities designed to develop sustainable and scalable financial services for low-income people.
The center works with apex organizations to disseminate and contribute to policy dialog in the Indian context as well as in the international arena. The center’s dissemination strategy uses a website, printed publications (in several languages), workshops, and digital content. To focus on practical learning, activities of the research, policy, and dissemination center are run in close collaboration with MSIF’s Financial Services Learning Center.
